The Dems Brought It

Have to admit I was a little nervous about how the Dems would pull off their National Convention in the middle of this damn pandemic. Of course, it had to be virtual. No live, enthusiastic crowds. No standing ovations. No chants of candidates names. No breathless pronouncements from delegates being interviewed on national tv on how well so and so did.  No spin from the spinmeisters. They were going into uncharted waters and the Dems would have to test those waters first, perhaps giving Repubs a leg up because they would get to see what worked and what didn’t work, and adjust accordingly for their convention the following week.

So how did it go?  Well, the Repubs are the ones who should be nervous now. The Dems hit a home run and now the Repubs are under pressure to match it. And their clean-up hitter, Cadet Bone Spurs, ain’t exactly known as a long-ball threat.

All four nights the Dems brought it, with credible, likable speakers talking to us without the distractions of a raucous crowd. They talked to us directly, from the heart. You had ex-politicians, current politicians, political spouses, Democrats, Republicans, and just good old, regular people. You had touching vignettes, background stories, beautiful national anthems, cute pledges of allegiance, and effective cases made for Joe Biden and against the treacherous Bunker Boi.

At the end of Wednesday night Kamala Harris showed that Joe Biden made a great decision by choosing her to be his Vice-Presidential running mate. And then, at the end of the fourth and final day, it was Joe’s turn. How would he cap off the 4-day celebration of himself, his running mate, the Democratic Party, and America? He gave the speech of his life. Joe reaffirmed his supporters belief in him and won over a boatload of fence-sitters. Joe did what winners do, he rose to the occasion.

If Joe can effectively display the strength, the empathy, the resolve, the humanity he showed in that speech into these last 70+ days of the campaign, Bounty Boi doesn’t stand a chance. And Bounty Boi knows it. That’s why the next 70+ days are going to get ugly.

Cadet Bone Spurs is a desperate man. He sees the long arm of the law closing in. He knows that if he loses, he will be in legal peril at noon on 1/20/21 when he no longer has protection from criminal prosecution. So what can we expect? For one, more lies. Bigger lies, bolder lies, more extreme lies. If you thought the 20,000 lies in his first 3 1/2 years was bad, hold on to the flagpole, because a tsunami of lies is coming that’s never been seen before in human history.

We can also expect shenanigans from the corrupt and unethical Attorney General, William Barr. He’s scheming an October surprise as we speak. Also in the works: phony Senate investigations lead by Republican Senators Lindsay Graham, and Ron Johnson, whose sole purpose is to smear and sully Joe Biden’s reputation.

If you want proof of Bunker Boi’s corrosive effect on people and how he diminishes them and destroys their character and soul, look no further that Lindsay Graham. This is a guy who once was willing to work across the aisle and said that Joe Biden was by far the most decent man in Washington. Now he’s willing to destroy Joe’s good name and reputation with phony scandals, at the behest and benefit of the most dishonest, incompetent, unethical, corrupt President in U.S. history.

Ok, on to two last items in a post that was originally just going to be about the outstanding Democratic National Convention. As everyone’s heard, another close Orange Turd associate, Steve Bannon, has been arrested and charged with ripping off moronic, gullible, Bunker Boi supporters (actually, is there any other kind). How many of these  Bunker Boi close associates have to be arrested before it dawns on these fools that he’s in deep with lots and lots of unsavory people? Of course, that’s a trick question. To them, Orange Boi only associates with “the best people”, no matter the evidence proving otherwise.

Apparently Bannon and a few others raised funds they said would help with the border wall Mexico was going to pay for, only to allegedly pocket lots of that money. Poor fools should have done it the legal way Orange Boi’s evangelical preachers do it: say the money is for God and pocket most of it, tax free.

Lastly, a bipartisan Senate report on Russia’s meddling in the 2016 Presidential election came out this week and it was a BOMBSHELL. Among other things, it showed extensive contacts between Bounty Boi’s campaign, especially his campaign manager, Paul Manafort, and Russia. But despite being a BOMBSHELL, and more proof that the Mueller Report was not a “hoax”, it’s pretty much flown under the radar. This would have likely brought down any other Administration, but we are so inured to the constant chaos and corruption of this Administration, it gets little more than a shoulder shrug. WTF!!!  Some days I just want to scream.

The Democratic ticket for the 2020 Presidential election, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, in a picture unique to these times: having to wear facemasks because of the deadly coronavirus. If President Bounty Boi had taken it seriously from the start and managed it properly, the country would be much further along in its control of the pandemic.

A real President and First Lady; the Obama’s brought it at the Dem Convention. They made the case for Joe Biden and against Bunker Boi with intelligence, articulation, grace, and class. Gawd I miss that!

Kristin Urquiza, one of the “regular” people to speak at the DNC virtually; her dad, a Bunker Boi supporter, followed Bunker Boi’s lead and didn’t take the pandemic seriously. He went to a karaoke bar where he contracted the coronavirus, which ended up killing him. His daughter said he should be alive today and summed it up this way, “His only preexisting condition was trusting Donald Trump, and for that, he paid with his life”. Powerful.

National treasure Julia Louis Dreyfus; she hosted the fourth and final night of the DNC and had some absolutely great Bounty Boi zingers that only she could deliver. One of my favorites: “Joe Biden goes to church so regularly that he doesn’t even need tear gas and a bunch of federalized troops to help him get there.”

The next POTUS, Joe Biden, giving his epic acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. Maintain the momentum Joe and Orange Boi won’t have a chance. Funny how if Joe has a gaffe moment it’s national news, while Orange Boi gaffes hourly and nobody cares. Ugh.

VP DEMANDS and Faux Executive Orders

So once again Dear Leader wasted taxpayers money while enriching his coffers by spending this past weekend at one of his properties, this time Bedminster in New Jersey. Funny how all of the Conservative pundits and politicians who were so offended and upset when Barack Obama would go to the local D.C. golf course for a round of golf, find it perfectly fine and acceptable for Trump to almost weekly go to his out-of-state properties for long golf weekends, making $$ for his company while sticking taxpayers with the over-priced bill.

And why is the Mainstream Media complicit in normalizing these trips?! I was watching ABC News Saturday evening and they of course covered his signing of Executive Orders (more on that later) and, from the report, you would never know he was at Bedminster. No mention of it, just “Bridgewater, NJ” in small type under the reporters name who was up there. She filed her report from some generic grassy area that could have been anywhere. And then, the studio anchor says, “Thank you (reporters name) from the White House”. Huh?! No!! She wasn’t at the White House, she was at fucking Bedminster Golf Club!!! Spending ABC’s $$ at Trump’s resort!

This followed NBC Nightly News giving the Trump campaign a million dollar commercial for free a couple of days earlier. Trump was in Ohio touring a factory or something. After the tour they showed him at a microphone on the tarmac railing about Joe Biden hating God, Mom, and apple pie. Then they do this story about Biden saying something about the difference in diversity between Blacks and Hispanics. They provide no context, but say it was controversial. Then they go back to Trump who was, I believe, now back in D.C., and he’s saying how he just saw a tape of Biden’s remarks and how badly he disparaged Blacks and my gosh, how can any Black vote for Joe. It was as if Trump’s campaign manager was moonlighting as the NBC News producer! I watched the PBS Newshour after that and not a word about this allegedly controversial Biden statement. They also didn’t have anything about Trump’s ridiculous “Biden hates God…” rant. Why? Because these stories were NOT newsworthy! Thank Gawd some news organizations have standards and the good sense not to be so easily manipulated.

As noted above, Trump took time between golf rounds to sign four Executive Orders. This was in reaction to the stalemate between Dems and Repubs over funding for a covid-19 relief bill. Now, I’d bet my house that Trump told the Repubs, “Don’t settle this thing before the weekend”. He wanted to sign those Executive Orders so he could look like a Great Leader riding in on his White Horse to save the American people from rot and ruin created by those America-hating Democrats.

Fortunately, those Executive Orders aren’t worth the sharpie that was used to sign them. Legal experts say they are unconstitutional, but Trump doesn’t care about that. He got a new campaign ad out of it, showing how much he cares for the well-being of all Americans, while the evil Democrats would let them wallow in their own waste if given the chance. Look for more phony stunts like that between now and election day.

Finally, Biden’s VP pick will be revealed this week. My prediction? I’m tired of predicting, let’s just get the answer already. What I don’t like are individuals and special interest groups demanding the person has to be this or that. We already know it will be a woman, but then some demand she HAS to be Black, or she HAS to be Progressive or she CAN’T be from this state or she CAN’T have this former job on her resume. Advocate for a certain someone or something, fine. But DEMAND a certain someone or something, get lost.

It’s impossible for Joe Biden to meet everyone’s DEMANDS, so, inevitably, someone’s DEMANDS will not be met. If those individuals or groups then start crying foul and disparaging Biden for not meeting their DEMANDS, who benefits? Of course, the answer is the Orange Turd. And if Orange Turd benefits, Americans lose. This election is, by far, the most important in our lifetimes. Anyone who causes Joe Biden to lose one vote because he didn’t meet their specific DEMAND for a VP should be relegated to the front row at every future Orange Turd rally (oh yeah, if he were to somehow win a 2nd term, he’ll keep holding rallies).

If Joe’s VP selection doesn’t meet your DEMAND, put away your ego, stow your gripes in the ice chest, pull on your big boy/girl pants, put a smile on your face and say, “I would have preferred X but Z is also a great choice and I/we support this ticket 100%”.

Biden is going to win the popular vote by at least 5 million votes, but because of the ridiculous and antiquated Electoral College, every vote in the swing states count. It’s my belief that Biden will win comfortably, but due to the shenanigans the Repubs are sure to pull, we can’t take anything for granted. Let’s not help them by being anything less than 100% behind Joe and Susan whoever his VP pick is.

Trump’s Bedminster Golf Club; when Trump is here or Mar-a-Lago or any of his resorts for the weekend, it’s the responsibility of the Mainstream Media to make it clear to the American taxpayers that they are funding another expensive excursion and filling his company coffers in the process. They don’t have to make a big deal about it, just make it clear where he is, and the viewer/reader can judge for themselves if it’s a big deal or not.

See the source image

Trump signing an executive order; why does this weak, self-absorbed, petty little man always have to show us his signature on whatever he just signed? He’s like a 3rd-grader showing his teacher he can now write in cursive, “Look Miss Johnson, I wrote this all by myselfed”.

See the source image

Typical Orange Turd rally; if this mendacious creep draws another inside royal straight and manages to somehow win a 2nd term, any individual or special interest group who got their panties in a bunch because Biden didn’t meet their DEMAND and pick their favored VP candidate and causes Joe to lose even one vote in a swing state, should be made to suffer by being relegated to the front row at every Orange Turd rally. And yes, trust me, he would continue to have rallies, even though he is constitutionally unable to run again.

America can’t give him that chance.

See the source image

Former VP Joe Biden; he will be the next POTUS in spite of Republican skullduggery unless the Dems self-destruct. One way to self-destruct is to whine, bitch, and moan that Joe didn’t meet your DEMAND and pick your choice for VP. Dems need potent solidarity, not petty selfishness.

Bounty Boi Salutes White Power

So President Bounty Boi claims he wasn’t briefed on the intelligence information that Russia/Vladimir Putin had offered to pay the Taliban a bounty for every American soldier they killed in Afghanistan. How could such a bombshell allegation not be conveyed to the POTUS?! Since Bounty Boi starts lying the moment he hauls his pasty lard-ass out of bed in the morning until his last tweet in the evening, odds are that he was indeed briefed on the matter. And if he was briefed and his reaction was, “What’s the big deal?”, even some of the spineless Republican ghouls in Congress will be forced to express outrage. Probably not enough to deeply hurt Bounty Boi, but perhaps enough to make him squirm a little in his tighty-whitey’s.

And what’s it say if he wasn’t briefed? That the Presidential briefers didn’t feel this explosive intel would be taken with the seriousness it deserves by this POTUS? Or that it was included in writing in the Presidential Daily Brief and Bounty Boi simply didn’t bother to read it? All of these possibilities are a stinging commentary on the clueless, incurious moron who currently occupies the position that’s considered the most powerful person in the world, and whatever the truth is, Bounty Boi comes out looking very bad. Evidence that he was briefed and did nothing: he followed the Bounty Boi playbook and sent out a tweet the next morning (discussed in the next paragraph) to distract from Bountygate. Logical conclusion: he was briefed and his people are pulling out all the stops to spin it otherwise.

Distraction or not, it’s never a good look when you tweet or retweet white supremacist supporters shouting racist language. I’m sure everyone has seen the tweet that included a video of some residents of a retirement community in Florida driving golf carts with signs supporting Bounty Boi. After getting pushback from others in the community, one of the Bounty Boi supporters shouts “white power”, twice. Now, whatever excuses/explanations Bounty Boi’s people tried to use to justify this tweet, there is no way to put a positive spin on it.

Let’s break down their excuse/explanation: He didn’t hear the man shouting “white power”. Now, it happened within the first 10 seconds of the recording and the guy said it TWICE, very clearly. But if he really didn’t hear it, what’s he doing retweeting something to his 83 million followers if he doesn’t know exactly what’s in a tweet?! At the very least that’s extremely careless and irresponsible. One of his deputy press secretaries put out a statement saying he didn’t hear it but what he saw was, “…tremendous enthusiasm from his many supporters”. In other words, it doesn’t matter that there were white supremacists in the crowd, what was important is that they were enthusiastic supporters of Bounty Boi! Not one word of condemnation came from Bounty Boi or his Administration about the racism exhibited at that demonstration.

I am completely bewildered and dismayed that anyone still supports this despicable sociopath, but when I see some of the few people of color who support him I am especially aghast. How can they not see it?

Bounty Boi’s opponent in the November election, Joe Biden, is riding high right now. Of course, things can change with four months to go until the election, but right now Joe can just sit back and watch Bounty Boi’s self-immolation. The polls seemingly get better every day for Joe, which obviously means they get worse for Bounty Boi. The Biden campaign is being very strategic, having Joe go to small campaign events with social distancing, making pronouncements on-line, etc. Let Bounty Boi do all the work for you, and by showing his racism, incompetence, meanness, lack of empathy, and once again bowing to Putin, Bounty Boi is doing one helluva job for Joe Biden.

Truth be told, I did not want Joe Biden to get the Dem nomination. Another old white guy? Please, let’s move on! Turns out, I was wrong. Joe is the best Democratic candidate for this election. Joe is everything Bounty Boi is not: humble, gracious, empathetic, thoughtful, caring, and more. And Joe is a moderate who has proven he can work across the aisle. That means all of the conservative-leaning Independents and regular Republicans who are repulsed by Bounty Boi have license to cross the aisle. If the Dem nominee were Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, or many of the other Dems who vied for the nomination, these folks may have either held their noses and voted for Bounty Boi or simply not voted.

These folks however, can get behind the likable, moderate Joe Biden and not feel guilty about switching allegiance to a Democrat. And they’re coming out in droves. It seems every day I’m reading about a Republican or Independent group throwing their support to Joe. The first and best known is the Lincoln Project. This group includes Kellyanne Conway’s husband George, plus other well-known and staunch Republican operatives like Rick Wilson and Steve Schmidt. These guys have a clear-eyed view of Bounty Boi and the wreck and ruin he is responsible for. They realize four more years of Trump and America will be unrecognizable. And unlike the weak, sniveling, soulless Republican enablers populating practically the entire whole of Republicans in Congress, they are willing to stand up to and call out the cancerous tumor occupying the White House. They have been producing some devastating adds, thoroughly eviscerating Bounty Boi and gleefully getting under his notoriously thin skin. It’s been fun to watch, to say the least.

So now comes my prediction for 11/3/20. Some folks are shouting, “No! Don’t say anything, you’re going to put the whammy on Joe!” Kind of like when a pitcher has a no-hitter going into the later innings and no one’s supposed to mention it, lest it jinx the pitcher and ruin the no-hitter. Well, trust me, nothing I say in this obscure blog is going to alter history. So here goes: unless something catastrophic happens between now and then, Joe wins in a cakewalk. Long-time readers of this blog are probably right now saying, “Yeah, that’s what you said in 2016 with Hillary, and look what happened”. Yes, I, and 99% of non-rabid Bounty Boi supporters, did say that. I also said she’d win by 3-5 million votes. She won by 2.8 million, but the antiquated Electoral College doomed her.

Let’s break it down.

1. I don’t believe Hillary ever had as big a lead in the polls as Joe has now. Like in any campaign, things will happen. Bounty Boi will have some good days, Joe will have some bad days, and, because of electoral gravity, Joe’s lead will likely shrink. But it won’t go away enough for him to lose the Electoral College (like in 2016, the Electoral College is Bounty Boi’s only chance, he’ll lose the popular vote by at least 5 million).

2. Hillary Clinton was hated as much as Bounty Boi. Remember, a lot of people voted for who they thought was the lesser of two evils. Nobody hates Joe Biden. Some may not like him much, some may not like his ideology, some may think he’s too old or too white or not bright enough, but nobody hates him. Bounty Boi on the other hand is hated even more today than he was in 2016.

3. Joe doesn’t have a Benghazi or a personal server problem, two phony “scandals” the Repubs were able to manufacture and demonize Hillary with. Of course, they’re working overtime trying to drum up a scandal, and who knows, they may partially succeed at creating one. Gawd knows they’re good at that sort of thing. Two treacherous, unethical, Bounty Boi brownnosers, Ron Johnson and Lindsey Graham, are Senate Committee Chairmen who have started phony investigations into Biden and his son Hunter. And of course the corrupt and unethical Attorney General, Bill Barr, also has one or two faux investigations going. My guess is that as the campaigns ramp up, Johnson and Graham will try a slow drip, drip, drip of alleged nefarious misdeeds committed by the Biden’s. Then, as the election gets near, the duplicitous Bill Barr will drop a bombshell timed to have maximum effect on the election, and be difficult to resolve before 11/3. Of course, Fox “News” and the rest of the Right Wing echo chamber will be complicit in all of these machinations, screaming their propaganda at the top of their lungs, so Joe will get wounded. But this rank corruption will stop at noon on 1/20/21.

4. Facebook and others will be more prepared to fight off foreign (mostly Russian) election interference. Some will occur, but not to the extent of 2016. And the DNC will have fortified servers so their emails can’t be hacked. The Russians will try new things though and I hope the Dems are prepared for whatever that is.

5. Former FBI Director Jim Comey isn’t around to recklessly announce, two weeks before the election, that they’ve reopened an investigation into Biden, just to announce a few days later, oops, never mind, there’s nothing there. When he did that in 2016, I said that if Hillary barely loses, it would be because of Comey. She barely lost and I still feel that if Comey hadn’t broken the unwritten rule that you don’t do things like that that close to an election, Hillary would have won. But this is where Barr comes in. While Comey’s blunder was an honest lapse in judgment, Barr’s act will be intentional, but hopefully less harmful. It’s also ironic that if Comey had properly kept his mouth shut and honored that unwritten rule, he’d probably still be FBI Director and no one would know who the hell Bill Barr was.

6. In 2016 Bounty Boi was new to politics, so he had no record. No one could say he voted for this disastrous policy or made that reckless decision. He doesn’t have that advantage now. We’ve seen his disastrous handling of a pandemic, just recently saying we need to “slow the testing down”. We’ve seen his capitulation to Putin and other autocrats while disparaging our democratic allies. We’ve seen him ignoring our Intelligence services in favor of those autocrats. We’ve seen him turn his back on our Kurdish allies and allow them to be slaughtered. We’ve seen him shut down the government for over a month, trying to get money for his border wall. We’ve seen him steal money from the Pentagon to use for that stupid border wall. We’ve seen him put families and children in cages at the border. We’ve seen him call anti-sematic racists and white supremacists “very good people”. We’ve seen him fire government watchdogs and obstruct justice. We’ve seen him bribing foreign governments to help his re-election. We’ve seen him lie to or mislead the American public almost 20,000 times. We’ve seen him try to destroy Obamacare. We’ve seen him ignore science and take America out of the Paris Climate agreement and the Iran Nuclear Deal. We’ve seen many of his corrupt associates go to prison. We’ve seen many of his appointees quit his Administration in disgust. We’ve seen him vilify honorable public servants for telling the truth about his corrupt actions. We’ve seen him spend millions of dollars of taxpayers money at his golf resorts during his many, many golfing trips. We’ve seen his hateful, disgusting tweets vilifying anyone who has even gently criticized him. We’ve seen him have lawful, peaceful protestors teargassed so he can have a photo-op. And on and on and on.

7. I’d like to think that the United States of America is still a great country. Just like great men, great countries make mistakes. And because of a perfect storm of events, most of which are noted above, the USA made a doozy of a mistake in November of 2016. Just like with great men, great countries learn from their mistakes and rarely repeat them. Donald J. Trump is a narcissistic, corrupt, incompetent, unethical, mendacious, bullying sociopath who does not deserve to hold the lofty title of President of the United States. The greatness of this country (and karma) will ensure he is a one-term President.

See the source image

Former V.P. Joe Biden; he was not my first choice (or second or third) for the Dem Presidential nomination, but turns out he’s the best choice. Independents and Republicans will vote for him without guilt or reservation, something you probably couldn’t say about any of the other candidates. And he’s the antidote to the narcissistic, unethical, corrupt, incompetent, uncaring, mendacious, divisive Bounty Boi.

See the source image

President Bounty Boi and Russian President Putin; once again Bounty Boi is ingloriously bowing to Putin and letting him put bounties on American soldiers without consequences. Bounty Boi’s people are putting spin on the issue but the proof is in the distraction: drop a racist retweet, diverting coverage of the bounty scandal, knowing your supporters will care much less about that than gross dereliction of duty and putting American soldiers in harms way. This also gives your team time to devise a strategy to spin your way out of the bounty disgrace.

See the source image

The United States of America; she’s a great country but she made one of the biggest  mistakes in her history in 2016. My $$ says she’s too great to make the same mistake when given the chance to correct it. At noon on 1/20/21 Bounty Boi becomes just a regular citizen again. Time to lawyer-up Bounty Boi.

Random Thoughts on a Slow News Wednesday

The horrible killing of George Floyd has unleashed anger and activism like I’ve never seen. The anger and activism have even gone international. Not sure how much, but you can bet that positive change and progress will emanate from this movement. Even President Bunker Boi signed an Executive Order addressing police reforms. Of course it’s anemic and only for show. Since this is an election year, Bunker Boi wants to show ‘The Blacks’ he really, truly cares about them.  Of course, that caring will disappear on November 4th, and if there’s any justice in this world Bunker Boi will disappear January 20th.

A good example of how much Bunker Boi deeply cares about the citizenry is occurring this Saturday in Tulsa, OK. Despite cases of Covid-19 spiking there, Bunker Boi will be having his first rally since the pandemic mandated they stop. Bunker Boi needs his rallies like a heroin addict needs his fix. The difference is, the addict will risk his own life by using a dirty needle, while Bunker Boi will risk the lives of his supporters by jamming them into an arena in the middle of a pandemic.

Originally, it was going to be a mask-free affair but after intense criticism the campaign now says masks will be handed out at the door, but it’s the rally-goers choice to wear it or not. Now, since Bunker Boi (and VP Bunker Boi Brownoser, who will also be there) refuses to wear a mask, how many of those Bunker Boi cultists do you think will wear theirs? Since Bunker Boi has made clear he’d rather not see masks, my guess is maybe 10%. Tulsa hospitals, get ready for a spike from the stupid.

Bunker Boi and his campaign claim there has been a million people to register for this rally. The population of Tulsa is 400,000, you do the math. Now, some of those who registered were Democrats trolling the campaign, hoping to get a ticket and not going, leaving the arena less than full. However, while you have to provide contact information when registering, tickets are not distributed. The first 19,000 people in line (that’s the capacity) get in. Of course, they use the information provided while registering to bombard them with propaganda and requests for campaign contributions.

Back to the assertion that a million people have registered to get into the rally. Is there anyone outside the Bunker Boi cult who believes such a fantastic claim? Since this information is proprietary to the campaign, there is no way to confirm it (and we all know the veracity of Bunker Boi and his minions). So why, besides being fantastical liars, would they make that claim? Polls. Right now Joe Biden is thumping Bunker Boi in every  poll. A CNN poll has Biden beating him so badly they laughably sued CNN to pull the poll (when CNN’s lawyers stopped laughing they said, “yeah, right”). So Bunker Boi and his campaign want to change the narrative and tell his gullible supporters, “Look, see how popular the president is, don’t believe those worthless polls from the Fake News Media”.

But, unbelievably, while they’re a distinct minority, there are still millions of Bunker Boi cultists out there. You see their ridiculous posts and rants on Facebook and wearing their MAGA hats everywhere they go. But what happened this past Sunday with flotillas in Palm Beach, San Diego and other places ‘honoring’ Bunker Boi on his 74th birthday was truly disturbing. A parade for Dear Leader on his birthday?! That isn’t America, it’s China or North Korea or Nazi Germany. Bunker Boi and his sycophants would make us believe they were organic, but his re-election team was behind them. Just more proof of their fascist tendencies.

The Bunker Boi Administration, noted for its flipping off of Congress, and by extension the American people, is at it again. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin appeared before Congress last week and refused to accept any oversight of how they spent over half a TRILLION dollars in the Paycheck Protection Program, established to help small businesses survive the Covid-19 pandemic. That is taxpayer money and yet Mnuchin is saying how it was spent is ‘proprietary’ and ‘confidential’, so phuc u Congress and American taxpayers. Again, over half a TRILLION dollars!

The arrogance and corruption of this Administration is breathtaking. When the new Administration takes over, the whole lot of them, including their congressional enablers, need to face criminal charges, and if convicted, be put behind bars for as long as the law allows. There will be many people, even Dems, who will say, “This country has too many problems we need to fix, let the rats scurry back to their hovels and let’s just move on”. Uh, no. Unleash the Justice Dept. and congressional committees and make those scoundrels pay for their sins, starting at the top with Bunker Boi.

Finally, one last thought for the day; I sure as hell hope Joe Biden has the best protective team the Secret Service has to offer. I’m not some wild-eyed conspiracy theorist, but I believe his life could be in grave danger. I envision three scenarios (no doubt there’s more) where he’s at risk of assassination.

  1. Bunker Boi is a Tony Soprano wannabe. He acts like a mobster and there are credible allegations he has mob ties in his past. As noted above, Biden is currently thumping him in the polls. If the election was next month, it would be bye-bye Bunker Boi. Of course, polls can change, but if polling is similar in September, Bunker Boi will become desperate, especially since come noon on 1/20/21 he would no longer be protected by “a sitting President cannot be indicted”. So Bunker Boi is sitting around with some of his most loyal and thuggish sycophants and says, “This doesn’t look good, the only way I win in November is if Joe Biden is no longer on the ticket”. Like Tony Soprano, he doesn’t say directly, ‘take this guy out’, he just hints at it. Bunker Boi’s associates will know what he means and they’ll get busy with making the Boss happy.
  2. Nobody in the world is happier that Bunker Boi is POTUS than Vladimir Putin. He’s sitting around his seaside Dacha sipping Russo-Baltique vodka, smoking Cuban stogies and laughing uncontrollably. Helping to get Bunker Boi elected is working out for him better than his wildest dreams. America is being lead by a lying, unethical, corrupt, incompetent who denigrates America’s allies and fawns and quivers around him and other autocrats. The guy has created chaos and division America hasn’t seen since the Civil War. Vladimir likey and wants 4 more years. Only problem is, it’s September and Bunker Boi is way behind Biden in the polls. Vlad knows if Biden is out of the picture the VP on the ticket will probably become the Presidential candidate. Vlad also knows that the VP nominee doesn’t have the name recognition, experience, or popularity of Biden. Suddenly, Bunker Boi’s chances for re-election go up. If you don’t think Putin is capable of ordering an assassination, you haven’t been paying attention. And do you think the Bunker Boi administration is going to do a serious investigation of who was behind it? Of course they’re not.
  3. The lone wolf /gang of wolves. Bunker Boi has legions of unhinged supporters who are armed to the teeth and dangerous. It’s September/October and Fox “News”, Rush Limbaugh, and other Right Wing media are warning them that their President and Leader, the Greatest President in the history of the US of A, is a victim of the Fake News media and is in danger of losing the election to the librel/commie, Joe Biden. They’ll say it isn’t fair, it isn’t right, and something has to be done about it. Dog whistle and the wolves will bite.

Let’s also say we get intel that’s uncovered a plot to take out Biden, a plot that could be thwarted. Many around Bunker Boi have already proven they’re more loyal to him than to country, people like Attorney General Bill Barr and Sec. of State Mike Pompeo, and I could see them working to suppress that intel. Yes, that is how reprehensible I think those people are.

Perhaps 3 1/2 years of Bunker Boi has turned me paranoid, but I don’t think so. But it definitely has made me more cynical and I truly believe all three scenarios are possible. Perhaps a benefit of this pandemic will be that Joe Biden continues to campaign mostly from his home. While I’m sure his home is not fortified and is somewhat vulnerable, it’s surely safer than out on the road.

Keep safe Joe.

Today is Wednesday and I saw on the news that there’s already a long line of people to get into the rally in Tulsa that’s not until Saturday night. Sad!

And with some in Bunker Boi’s Administration willing to ignore plausible threats against Biden, the Secret Service is going to be pretty much on their own in keeping Joe safe.

Listening To This “Dr.” Could Get You Killed

“Dr.” Trump is at it again, trying to kill off some of his supporters. As you may recall, a guy in Arizona listened to the good “Dr.” when he first started promoting hydroxychloroquine as a COVID-19 cure and took something similar, and it killed him. Between that and a study that indicated hydroxychloroquine worsened the outcomes of COVID patients, “Dr.” Trump backed off a little on his promotion of the drug. But now he’s back big-time, saying he’s been taking it for over a week. HUH??!!

I don’t need to tell ya’ll how grossly irresponsible and reckless it is of the President of the United States to promote an unproven and potentially dangerous, even lethal, drug. If a few of his moronic cultists die from following his lead, he will deservedly suffer negative political consequences. Will it be enough to derail his candidacy? Nah. The Trump Cult has proven they will follow him into the sewer, so a few of them going a little deeper down to their graves won’t deter them. Trump’s problem though, is that he needs every vote he can get. His voters skew older so they’re already dying off naturally, killing more with his abhorrent examples will just leave fewer ignorant citizens casting a ballot in his favor.

But is “Dr.” Trump really taking the drug? Right now I’d say it’s less than 50-50. Of course, he lies about anything and everything, trivial or serious. He, or a crony he owes a favor, very well might have a financial interest in the drugs manufacturer. We know “Dr.” Trump is corrupt and without ethics, but the White House doctor seemed to back up his claim that he’s taking it. But let’s remember, people lie and dissemble for Trump on an hourly basis. So is he taking hydroxychloroquine? Since anything Trump says has less than a 20% chance of being true, the smart bet would be he’s not taking it. But you know how these drugs list all of their side effects? If Trump is indeed taking it, it would be poetic justice if he gets 100% of them.

Speaking of corruption, this past Friday night, Trump fired another Inspector General, this one from the State Department. As you know, IG’s play the role of government watchdogs. Trump is trying to rid the government of independent, nonpartisan, fair-minded, serious men and women and put lapdogs in their place. The goal, of course, is to make it so he and his corrupt appointee’s can act with impunity. This is serious, Orwellian type of shit and our only hope is that Congress can flex some muscle on it; I’m not real optimistic. That’s one more reason it is imperative we vote that bastard out of office.

In his letter announcing the firing, Trump said he had “lost confidence” in the IG. Then on Monday when questioned about the firing, Trump said he didn’t know the guy, didn’t know anything about him and that he fired him because Sec. of State Mike Pompeo had asked him to fire him! So much for the “lost confidence” bullshit. Turns out the IG was investigating Pompeo for a couple of things: improperly using State Dept. personnel and a controversial arms deal with Saudi Arabia (undoubtedly at Trump’s behest). How convenient to be rid of him. He’ll no doubt be replaced by a fierce loyalist or Deputy Dawg, depending on which one they feel would be most useful to them.

November can’t come soon enough.

“Dr.” Donald Trump; if you want to live, don’t listen to this guy. Whether he’s taking hydroxychloroquine or not, the Trumpee Cultists believe he is and many of them will try to get a prescription from their doctors. And some doctors will comply. And some people will get very sick from the drug, perhaps even die. Or they will think they are impervious to COVID because they are taking the drug and they will take no precautions and become infected. And no matter how many times Trump claims, “I take no responsibility at all”, he will be responsible. This would have a devastating effect on the consciences of most people. Trump will not lose one second of sleep over it.

Hydroxychloroquine; in addition to possible heart arrhythmia some common side effects of taking this drug: headache, dizziness; nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain; loss of appetite, weight loss (perhaps this is the real reason Trump might be taking it); feeling nervous or irritable; skin rash or itching; hair loss (please have this one Donnie!)

Sec. of State Mike Pompeo; this guy is a typical Trump appointee Swamp Creature, willing to do or say anything if it would please his master. His corrupt request of Trump to fire the Inspector General who was looking into his possible malfeasance is like the prime suspect in a crime asking that Sherlock Holmes be taken off the case and replaced by the suspects best friend or Deputy Dawg.

He’s Got A Very Good You Know What

At Trump’s daily presser/campaign rally on Thursday he pointed toward his head and exclaimed he’s got a “very good you know what”. Since Trump continually reminds the world he’s got a ‘great brain’, I assume that he was pointing to that ‘great brain’. But maybe not. Perhaps he was pointing to his very good hair dye job. Or his very good spray-on orange tan. Perhaps he was pointing to a very good mole on his very good ear.

But he used a verbal trick humans use when we can’t think of a word, saying ‘you know what’. So, if he was pointing to his brain, as I suspect, one could argue that he doesn’t actually have a very good brain, if he can’t even think of a very simple one-syllable word like ‘brain’.

At the same presser/rally, there was more evidence that Trump’s brain is less than ‘very good’. First he talked about somehow getting ultra-violet light into the body to kill the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Huh?! Then, in one of the most spectacularly stupid things I’ve ever heard anyone say, much less the President of the United States, he turned to the experts in the room and asked if perhaps we could inject disinfectant into the human body to kill the virus! I suppose in a way he’s right, since the poor soul who was injected would most likely be dead, but hey, so would the virus, so something positive would come out of it!

I’m sure you’ve all seen the video by now. I occasionally watch/listen to part of these daily briefings just to hear Trump make a fool of himself. On Thursday he didn’t disappoint. I was doing some yard work and was half-listening on the radio when he said it. I thought WTF, did Trump just say what I think he said? Inject disinfectants?! I must have misunderstood, even Trump isn’t that stupid! Sadly, I didn’t misunderstand.

Of course, on Friday Trump and the White House were in Full Bullshit Mode, trying to make America believe that what we heard was not actually what we heard. His Press Secretary, Dumb Blonde (since she’s new and we never see her I can’t remember the name printed on her WH pass), tried a favorite Trumpers tactic, blaming the media for the disaster. Others went to one of their other favorites, saying he was “taken out of context”. Trump himself said he was just being sarcastic. This inept Band of Grifters can’t even get their lying coordinated!

More and more Americans are tiring of this shitshow. Trump’s polling numbers are heading south and states once thought to be safe for Trump are in play. If the election were in a month, we’d have President Biden on 1/21/21. But the Dems have 6 months to screw things up, and Trump has a huge campaign war chest that he will use to make things ugly. He will also cheat, lie, and steal to stay in office. However, America is better than Trump and it’s encouraging that most Americans realize that.

I’m getting more and more confident that on 1/21/21 Trump will have to pay for his phalanx of lawyers on his own dime, because he will no longer be employed by the United States government. America will finally be able to start getting back to normal.

See the source image

Stable Genius Donald J. Trump; was he pointing to his very good brain or a very good mole on his very good ear? They’re similar, so it doesn’t really matter. He better start filling his piggy bank because come 1/21/21, the stable genius will need to start paying a stable of criminal lawyers, because he will no longer be protected from criminal prosecution.

Dumb Blonde; she’s currently his Press Secretary but that may have changed between when I write this and when I hit ‘publish’. She went to the tried and true of the Trump Administration and blamed the media for Trump’s idiocy. Yes, how dare the media show Trump saying something imbecilic! And quoting him word for word!! So unfair!!!

COVID-45

A few thoughts while sequestered in my home doing mostly what I do best: nothing productive.

Thankfully Bernie Sanders dropped out of the race for the Democratic Presidential nomination, realizing he had zero chance to win. I would have said the same about Joe Biden if their positions were reversed. Or about any of the other candidates who were once in the race, if two were left but only one had a chance to win.

All efforts and attention can now be lavished on the presumptive nominee, Joe Biden, the person America must elect in November to end this four-year nightmare. If Donald J. Trump (aka COVID-45) gets four more years to unleash wreck and ruin, the United States of America, and the World, will be unrecognizable.

It’s encouraging that after getting a small bump in approval ratings (all presidents get a bump in times of crisis), COVID-45’s numbers have receded. American’s have been watching his daily briefings on the coronavirus crisis and they’ve been unimpressed, to say the least. COVID-45 is a poor reader and a sociopath with zero empathy, so the prepared statement comes across as inauthentic. COVID-45 then goes on to harangue the press when they ask perfectly legitimate questions, while risking serious injury to his labrum from patting himself on the back. This is not how Leaders behave, and more and more voters are starting to realize that.

COVID-45 has even managed to get into a feud with the conservative Wall Street Journal. After the WSJ criticized his briefings, COVID-45 tweeted that the WSJ doesn’t mention what great ratings his briefings get, proving once again what a sociopathic narcissist he is. Imagine, we’re in the middle of one of the worse crises in U.S. history, and this crazed egomaniac is obsessed with television ratings!

You probably heard about Navy Captain Brett Crozier, who was recently fired from command of an aircraft carrier. That firing had COVID-45’s tiny fingerprints all over it and I’d bet dollars to dimes he ordered it, even though he claims he had nothing to do with it (of course we all know the sky is blue and COVID-45 is a pathological liar). Since the details are well-known I won’t go into them here, but the firing was clearly not justified, and was just another petty, vindictive act from this disastrous Administration.

If the firing of Captain Crozier was bad, the firings of two Inspectors General (IG) were exponentially worse. One, the Defense Department IG, was just named by other IG’s to oversee the coronavirus bailout money. The other, the Intelligence Department IG, was the IG who rightfully and lawfully reported the Whistleblower complaint to Congress regarding the Ukraine call.

These firings are chilling. IG’s role in government are to provide oversight and scrutiny to the Departments they are assigned. Their roles are so important they need Senate confirmation to get the job. This is just another effort by COVID-45 to weaken government oversight so he can perpetuate his corrupt practices. It is sickening that his Republican enablers in Congress continue to turn a blind eye to his manifest malfeasance.

It is deeply troubling that so many American’s still support this cancerous tumor, with many of them actually worshiping him. In November we will have a stark contrast in our choice of men to be Leader of the Free World for the next four years. We’ll either choose a decent man with integrity, empathy and experience or a scoundrel with no decency, no integrity, and no empathy whose only experience is in his own self-promotion for his own self-interests.

America must choose wisely.

See the source image

Bernie Sanders; he did the right thing by getting out of the race for the Dem nomination. Now he must do the right thing by soon enthusiastically supporting Joe Biden. In 2016 his supporters either didn’t vote or voted for COVID-45, which is what put COVID-45 over the top in three crucial states that he won by a combined 78,000 votes. Bernie knows America can’t afford 4 more years of COVID-45 and must do all he can to make sure he isn’t re-elected.

See the source image

Joe Biden; the Dem nominating process was like a season of ‘Survivor’, starting with 20+ aspirants. Each month someone was voted off the island and after Bernie’s torch was put out, Joe was the last man standing. I was rooting for someone younger and of a different gender but am now all in for Joe. He’s everything COVID-45 isn’t: a man of integrity, empathy, and experience who will work in the best interests of the American people.

COVID-45; this malignant tumor is bad for America and bad for the World, he must be removed from office before it’s too late.

Gallows Humor

In these days of coronavirus, quarantines, no sports, grocery lines, Donald Trump’s presidency, and toilet paper shortages, is it OK to display humor? If we follow Trump’s lead it must be, since his response to the crisis has been a joke.

One of the reasons I ask this relates to a text exchange with one of my siblings. We were on a group thread made up of family members wishing all a happy St. Patrick’s Day and commiserating about the current crisis. One of my brothers said “…stories to tell as we grow older that is for sure!” I replied, “Grow older?! What are you talking about? This is going to kill us all! (haha).” I included the “haha” just to make it 100% clear I wasn’t panicking.

Apparently my brother was not amused. He replied, “Not sure I see or can ever see humor in that?!” I replied that, while I was sorry he was not amused, should I succumb to the virus at least he’d have a story to tell about the irony of my “joke”.

I later read the exchange to my shelter-in-place partner, aka my wife, who agreed my comment was mildly amusing and not in bad taste. Now, to be fair, after 28 years of marriage I believe she is legally obligated to say that. Nevertheless, I’m siding with her feedback over my brothers and feel it was not inappropriate. And, while not blow-coffee-out-of-your-nose funny, it was mildly amusing.

Now, back to the question, is it OK to display humor in these critical times? Most people would probably say, “yes, a little humor is OK, even necessary”. Some would say, “yes, but your remark was in bad taste”. Still others would say, “NO! There’s nothing funny about what’s going on right now. This is deadly serious (no pun intended). We all must remain resolute and vigilant!”

Should this thing turn truly tragic or someone I know were to die of the virus, my attitude would change. For now, I’m going to try and mine a little humor out of life, such as it is.

Speaking of humor, our Pumpkin POTUS has been a downright riot lately. Not only was his initial response to the crisis a joke, he’s continuing that joke. When asked recently how he’d rate his handling of the crisis on a scale of 1-10, without hesitation he gave himself a 10 (yeah, big surprise). There were spit-takes all across the country with that “joke”. He also claimed he knew this was a pandemic months ago, before virtually anyone else.  The nation peed its collective pants at that one.

One of my favorites was when Trump visited the CDC (wearing a campaign hat for Gawd’s sake, the vulgar little man has no shame or ethics). Surrounded by accomplished doctors and talking about the science of the virus he said, “I like this stuff. People are surprised I understand it. Every one of these doctors said, “How do you know so much about this?” Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for President.” Now that’s side-splitting funny. I believe every one of those doctors deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom for keeping a straight face.

Here’s what I imagine Trump daydreamed on Air Force One after leaving the CDC: “Dr. Trump, America needs you to develop a vaccine for the deadly COVID-19. You’re our only hope!” “Don’t worry, I’ll have a vaccine in a week. No, make that 3 days.” “Oh Dr. Trump, what would America do without you?! How can we repay you?” “Give me $100 Billion and get Stormy here pronto.”

Let’s face it, we’re in the middle of a crisis and we have President Inspector Clouseau in charge. The man is totally clueless. In a Rose Garden press conference last week with government experts and healthcare executives, after relating steps we can take with social distancing, he’s calling these guys up and shaking their hands. Finally one brave soul gave him an elbow bump. When asked later if he should be modelling actions Americans should be taking like not shaking hands, he said some nonsensical thing like, “Well, if they put their hands out I have to shake them.” One, no you don’t; if someone puts their hand out, just give them a fist or elbow bump and two, you were the one initiating the handshakes. And that was after Trump had been exposed to the virus a few days before at Mar-a-Lago! Hope those experts and executives brought their Purell.

With this social distancing we’re supposed to try and stay six feet away from others. Not Trump. At his now daily press briefings he wants to prove he’s finally taking this seriously, so he brings the experts, plus Vice-President B. Noser, to the podium with him and packs them up there like coeds in a closet hiding from Jason. Again, this after he was exposed to the virus (yes, he was allegedly tested and came back negative but the virus has a long incubation period). Those poor experts are probably thinking, “why didn’t I go into a less risky field, like bomb disposal?”

Personally, I’m trying to focus on the positives occurring in my world. E.g., since I’m lazy and love to read, this forced staying home is a bonanza. Another one, and this is huge: rain/snow here in Northern California. For the first time ever we got NO rain in February and it looked like we were headed for another drought. Then March came and so did the rain (and snow in the mountains). And it was the kind of rain you want: lots of it, spread out over time so there wasn’t flooding. High snow packs in the mountains means no drought, whoopee!

This thing will be over before we know it and we’ll have a great conversation-starter at cocktail parties: ‘what are your memories of the Great Pandemic?’ I’ll be able to show off the missing fingerprints from washing my hands so often (this will also come in handy should I decide to start a life of crime!).

This pandemic will also prove to be the beginning of the end of the Trump Admin. He can lie all he wants, but the American people saw his delayed response, and it’s all on video. It can be shown where he said there were hardly any cases, it would quickly go away, that it was a “Democrat hoax”, etc. His moronic base will forget all that and praise him for his handling of the crisis, but most fence-sitters and independents will realize the truth. And they’re the ones we need in November.

This crisis has highlighted Trump’s character flaws, including his mendacity, his narcissism, and his incompetence. While there are many examples of these flaws that I could use, I’ll go with this one: at a press conference to discuss the coronavirus crisis, when he called on a Fox “News” correspondent, Trump asked him, “[by the way] how were my ratings last night?”

In Trumpworld, it’s about Trump, and only Trump.

One of Trump’s press conferences about COVID-19; the moron tells us we must practice social distancing and keep six feet away from others while surrounded by a phalanx of experts (and VP B. Noser). I’d rather take my chances with those coeds hiding in the closet from Jason.

My new hero; One healthcare executive had the courage and good sense to rebuff Trump’s handshake and offer an elbow bump instead, modelling what we all should be doing. By seemingly showing up Trump, I’m surprised he got out of the White House alive.

‘Bobby three sticks’ sticks it to Trump

Most of us opposed to the repugnant sitting President were excited to hear the Congressional testimony of Special Council Robert Mueller III this past week. Many of us were hoping for explosive testimony that would pry open the eyes of Trump supporters and force them to admit what a scurrilous reptile Trump is.

Of course, no matter what he said, or how he said it, Mr. Mueller’s testimony wasn’t going to sway the Trumpers. They are a cult, and cults don’t listen to logic or reason. So those of us who see Trump for what he is have to admit that our expectations were just plain unrealistic.

After initially being somewhat disappointed in Mr. Mueller’s testimony, I reflected on the testimony and various analyses of that testimony, and realized his testimony was Robert Mueller III being thoroughly and unabashedly, Robert Mueller III. He answered questions honestly, truthfully, unemotionally, and in a manner that befits a war hero, a long-time public servant, and a man of great accomplishment.

Let’s face it, the Democrats wanted one thing out of this hearing and the Republicans wanted something else, and Mr. Mueller wasn’t there to take sides. He gave everyone fair warning that his report spoke for itself and that he did not relish coming before Congress to discuss it. He told us he was going to stick to what was in the report, and then he did just that. Why should anyone be disappointed in him when he faithfully adhered to what he told us he was going to do?

So let’s look at what he told us. In regards to conspiring with the Russians (what most folks refer to as collusion), he told us that while there were numerous troubling instances of the Trump campaign either interacting with Russians or welcoming/encouraging Russian interference, he did not feel there was enough evidence to get a conspiracy conviction.

In regards to obstruction of justice by Trump, Mr. Mueller laid out numerous instances where that occurred, but was very clear that his hands were tied by a ruling from the Office of Legal Council in the Justice Department that a sitting President cannot be indicted. In other words, he found that Trump obstructed justice but there was nothing he could do about it. If action was going to be taken against Trump, only Congress could initiate that action. In a blow against Trump, he also said that once Trump was no longer the sitting President, criminal charges could be brought against him in the matter (this is one reason we can expect Trump to act like a rabid wolverine in his effort to get re-elected).

Mr. Mueller testified that even though his office tried for over a year to get Trump to appear for an interview, Trump refused. He also testified that Trump’s answers to written questions were not always truthful (again, no charges for perjury because of the no-sitting-president-can-be-indicted crap).

Taken as a whole, Mr. Mueller’s testimony was devastatingly bad for Trump. But because it didn’t come with the histrionics and shouting and false bravado that Americans expect and sometimes need to be convinced of something, many felt let down and many pro-Trumpers, including Trump himself, claimed victory.  Which, of course, is hogwash.

What also needs to be discussed about this hearing is the part the Republicans on the committee played. Shameful is not a strong enough word. Treasonous may be too strong a word. But it’s somewhere in there between those two words.

Remember, this hearings focus was the Mueller Report, which included not only conspiracy (collusion)/obstruction by Trump and his campaign, but Russian interference into our democracy. Mr. Mueller made his most forceful comments confirming Russian interference in the 2016 election, and their continuing efforts to interfere in future elections. But not only did the Republicans ignore questions about the malfeasance of Trump and his campaign in the 2016 election and afterwards, they ignored the highly disturbing Russian interference that continues.

Instead, they attacked Mr. Mueller’s motives and credibility, tried to advance ridiculous conspiracy theories about the origins of the report and other unhinged accusations. Many asked no questions and just used their 5 minutes of time to filibuster nonsense with the hope that Trump would be watching and nodding his head in appreciation.

Republicans in this hearing just solidified the fact that they put Party over Country and Trump is their unassailable Dear Leader. When Trump is eventually brought down, the Republican Party will rightfully and deservedly fall like a house of cards. Since we rely on a robust two-party system in this country, another Party will replace them. Whatever the Party, it can’t help but have more integrity, dignity, patriotism, and honor than the current depravity and treachery of this Republican Party.

See the source image

Robert Mueller III, allegedly nicknamed ‘Bobby three sticks’ at the Justice Dept., supposedly after the III in his name and the three-fingered boy scout salute; this man has more dignity, honor and respectability in his baby toe than Trump and Republicans in Congress have combined. Let’s compare Mr. Mueller and Trump: Mr. Mueller graduates with undergraduate and masters degrees from Princeton University and law degree from U. of Virginia, volunteers to serve as a Marine Corps officer in Vietnam where he is awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star, among other awards, is appointed to various posts in government where he is charged with enforcing the rule of law, including FBI Director appointed by Presidents from both Party’s, also had distinguished private law practice; Trump gets into the Univ. of Pennsylvania only because of Daddy’s money where he has an unremarkable academic record, gets 5 deferments to avoid service in Vietnam, including Daddy paying off a doctor to claim nonexistent bone spurs, joins Daddy’s company where he discriminates against African-Americans in housing, Daddy uses illegal tax-dodges to transfer hundreds of millions of dollars to Donnie and his siblings, Donnie files numerous bankruptcies while ripping off small-time contractors, Donnie pays a $25 million settlement to settle a lawsuit over his fraudulent Trump University, hosts a ‘reality’ TV show, leads the racist attack on our first black president by promoting the canard that he was not born in America, and has told over 10,000 documented lies/misleading statements since becoming POTUS. Yet Trumpers and Republicans in Congress believe in Trump over Mr. Mueller. That’s what you call a sorry, sad, corrupt cult, folks.

Send Him Back

Warning: the author is pissed off and expletives are liberally spread throughout this narrative. Read at your own risk.

Donald Trump gave us a preview this weekend how his re-election campaign is going to be run. It’s going to be all about divide and conquer, and it’s going to be ugly. He wants to divide the country, pitting American against American. He knows his cultish base will stick with him no matter what. He also knows there’s a larger base that will NEVER vote for him. But he’s hoping by using the large megaphone of the presidency that he’ll be able to motivate and goad that base to the polls, plus add enough independents/undecideds to join the deplorables and get himself re-elected. He’ll never win the popular vote, but remember, he won the electoral college by 78,000 votes in three swing states, while losing the popular ballot by almost 3 million votes.

We all saw how he wielded that megaphone this past weekend with his disgusting, racist tweets directed at four Dem congresswomen, all women of color. He then turned up the volume on the megaphone, using the old Trump trick of accusing the congresswomen of exactly what he was accused of, and more, saying the congresswomen are anti-Semitic racists who hate America, want to destroy her, etc.

Trump knew he would get called out by Democrats, but that would just give him a chance to yell louder and lie harder. He also knew his base would at most just shrug, with many of them loving it, and that the cowards and enablers among the Republican Party office-holders would either shamefully sit on the sidelines or, even more shamefully, defend what he said.

The few Republicans who did speak out did so in a way not to draw Trump’s wrath. E.g. the perniciously flaccid Lindsey Graham meekly said Trump should “aim higher”, but then agreed with Trump about the substance of what he said about the congresswomen and then deviously attacked them himself.  Same with the only black Republican senator, Tim Scott, who mildly criticized Trump but covered his tracks by following it up with hyperbolic criticism of the congresswomen. Mitch McConnell created a false equivalency between Trump’s ugly racism and divisiveness with those who called him out by saying ‘both sides need to cut back on the rhetoric’. My reply to McConnell: Fuck You Mitch, your legacy as Senate Majority Leader will be as the most corrupt, destructive, partisan hack who shredded the Constitution and enabled an incompetent, unethical, corrupt, authoritarian wanna-be Dictator. And, in case you missed it the first time, Fuck You Mitch.

This is what the Republican Party has sunk to. And they haven’t come close to reaching the bottom. The RNC and many Republican politicians have now adopted Trump’s tactic of vicious demonization of Democrats with ugly name-calling and hyperbolic lies. If these tactics win the House back for the Republicans and get Trump re-elected, I can say without reservation that this country is royally fucked. And since this country is the most important country in the world, the world is also royally fucked.

While I strongly believe this tactic will fail, it is still disconcerting that it is even being considered, and that it has a small chance of succeeding. Remember, it only barely worked for Trump in 2016 because, 1. Many people deeply hated Hillary Clinton, 2. Russian interference in the election, 3. James Comey’s last-minute revelation about re-opening the investigation into Hillary’s emails and then saying, ‘never mind, nothing new to see’ after the damage was done.

2020 will see a more popular Dem candidate, we’ll be better prepared for Russian interference (despite the reprehensible Republican foot-dragging), and we won’t have another FBI Director screw-up. But the Dems will have to be razor-sharp in looking out for Trump’s and the Repub Party’s devious underhandedness. They will lie, smear, and defame. They will cheat, deflect, and obstruct. There is no depth they will not go to. Be prepared Dems.

Getting back to Trump’s racist and mendacious attacks on ‘The Squad’, we all saw how that played out at Trump’s rally in North Carolina Wednesday night. When he referenced the one member of the four who was not born in the United Stated, Somalian born American Ilhan Omar, they did what one might expect at a Trump rally, chanting “send her back”.

While the Republican leaders in Congress surely weren’t bothered by the sentiment, they knew the optics were terrible, so they had Mike Pence pass along a message to Trump to distance himself from it. Trump must have gotten the same message from Sean Hannity, because Trump took the advice and tried to pretend the chant was not something he approved of. Of course he told a totally provable lie of how he tried to stop it and laughably threw supporters at his rally under the bus. Luckily for Donnie his supporters are too stupid to know when they’ve been disrespected and used as scapegoats. And we know positively that he had to be told to disavow the chant because after the rally he tweeted how great the rally was and how great the rally-goers were, with no mention of the loathsome chant.

My disgust with the whole lot of them including Trump, nearly all Republican office-holders, and Trump supporters, reached a boiling point this week. My antipathy towards them has had me cursing, venting, screaming. I’m done with them. ANYONE who still supports the bigoted, corrupt, unethical, mendacious, vile racist currently serving as POTUS deserves less respect than I’d give to a rat infestation.

Donald J. Trump, sub-human; congratulations, you’ve been hugely successful at exposing the depth of bigotry and racism still rampant in this country. While it greatly saddens me, my anger and disgust are far greater. The country needs to send Trump back to where he came from, his gauche, gilded townhouse in Trump Tower. But only after about a ten-year detour to Sing-Sing prison.

Scene from Trump’s North Carolina rally; I’ve had it with these imbecilic Trump supporters. Amazingly, in a poll taken after Trump’s weekend tweets, his support among Republicans WENT UP 5%! What, previously that 5% didn’t think he was racist enough?!   If you’re gaga over an overt racist, by definition, you are racist. And racism is only one of Trump’s many deep flaws. He’s also a braggart, a bully, a xenophobe, corrupt, unethical, mendacious, incompetent, authoritarian, mean-spirited. He checks off all the boxes of a truly abhorrent person. Just what does that say about his supporters? And what does that say about this country to the rest of the world, who clearly see what Donald Trump truly is? When the next President takes office on January 20, 2021, she/he is going to have a lot of work to do to re-establish trust, good faith, and high ideals among U.S. citizens and World citizens alike.

Hillary Clinton; was it politically wise for Hillary to describe Trump supporters as ‘deplorables’? Probably not. Was she right in her description? History tells us she was spot on.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell; this vile, corrupt creature creates a false equivalency between Trump’s awfulness and those calling that awfulness out by saying ‘all sides need to tone down the rhetoric’. Fuck You Mitch. How’s that for toning down the rhetoric?

Senator Lindsey Graham; this two-faced twerp had the typical Republican response to Trump’s racism by weakly saying Trump needs to “aim higher”, and then viciously attacking the victims of Trump’s attack, sans the racism. Before Trump was elected, this squirrelly little prick described him pretty much in the same terms I describe Trump today. His flip-flop on Trump is nothing less than pathetic. And here’s the irony of Lindsey’s latent homosexuality: those on our side don’t give a fig about your sexuality, but if you came out of the closet tomorrow, your bigoted supporters would turn on you in a New York minute, no matter how far up Trump’s ass you are.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy; we’ll end this post with this punks take. After defending Trump’s weekend tweets, this is what he said about the “send her back’ chant at Trump’s North Carolina rally: “He moved on in the speech, he never joined in it, and you want to hold him accountable for something in a big audience? I think that’s an unfair position”. Yes, he moved on in the speech, but only after pausing 13 seconds to let the chant play out; correct, he never verbally joined it, but by pausing the speech, he allowed it to continue; and yes, I hold him accountable, because not only did he not stop it, he paused to allow it, and he incited it in the first place by his mendacious and incendiary rhetoric about Ilhan Omar. But thank you for your participation Kevin, you have represented the Republicans in the House very well with your craven and unapologetic support of a monster. Congratulations and Fuck You.
